Visit Opole Voivodeship


Opole Voivodeship is a province located in the south-western region of Poland. Its capital city is Opole and its population is approximately 1 million people. This region has beautiful nature reserves, castles, cities and villages that will take you back in time.

Otmuchow Castle, built in the 14th century by Duke John I of Opole, is a must see for tourists visiting this area. The castle has been beautifully preserved and provides an insight into the history of the region.

Another interesting tourist spot to visit is The Cathedral Basilica of St. Adalbert in Prudnik which was built in 1735 and still stands today as one of the most impressive cathedrals from this period of time in Poland.

For those interested in historical facts about Opole Voivodeship, it was formerly part of Silesia before being annexed to Poland during World War II under Stalin's rule after being occupied by Germany during WWII as well.
