Slaskie is a voivodeship, or province, located in the southern region of Poland. It is the country's most densely populated province and home to a variety of tourist attractions. Popular destinations include Wieliczka Salt Mine, one of the oldest salt mines in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with rich history and stunning sculptures carved from salt; and Krakow Zoo, well known for its wide range of animal species including lions, tigers, giraffes elephants and more. The area also has some interesting history as it was at the center of intense industrialization during the late 19th century dubbed "The Polish Industrial Revolution" due to its large coal reserves. Today Slaskie offers plenty for visitors from stunning natural landscapes to bustling cities full with culture and entertainment for all ages.
