Visit Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship


The Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship is a province located in the northern part of Poland. It has an area of 24,133 square kilometers and its population is around 1.4 million people.

Warmia and Masuria are two distinct cultural regions that make up the voivodeship and are home to some of Poland's most picturesque landscapes. There are many tourist attractions throughout the region, including the Gothic Castle in Malbork, which dates back to 1274, as well as several lakes with beaches such as Ostroda Lakeland and Nidzkie Lakeland. Nature enthusiasts also enjoy visiting Wolf's Lair - a complex of military structures built by Hitler during World War II - or exploring one of Europe's remaining primeval forests at Masuria Landscape Park.

The region boasts a rich cultural heritage with museums showcasing various aspects of local history such as the ethnographic museum in Olsztyn or Gierloz Museum dedicated to Adolf Hitler's stay here during WW2. Additionally, Warmia-Masuria is known for having been home to some famous figures from history, including Nicolaus Copernicus who was born here in 1473 and served as canon at Frombork Cathedral until his death in 1543.
