Av. Brasília, 1400-038 Lisboa, Portugal

Belem Tower, also known as the Tower of St. Vincent, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most iconic landmarks in Lisbon, Portugal. Built in the early 16th century during the Age of Discoveries, this fortified tower served as a point of embarkation and disembarkation for Portuguese explorers and as a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon. Its unique architectural style combines elements of the Gothic and the Moorish, with a touch of the Renaissance.

Visitors to the tower can explore its four storeys, which include the Governor’s Room, the Kings Room, the Audience Room, and the Chapel. The rooftop terrace offers panoramic views of the Tagus River and the city of Lisbon. Another must-see is the beautiful rhinoceros head gargoyle, a tribute to the Indian rhinoceros gifted to King Manuel I in 1515.
