Visit Va‘a-o-Fonoti

The Va'a-o-Fonoti region of Samoa is located on the island of Upolu and is known for its stunning beaches and lush tropical rainforests. This province offers visitors a unique glimpse into traditional Samoan culture, with several historical sites that are open to tourists.

One must-see tourist attraction in Va'a-o-Fonoti is Piula Cave Pool, a natural spring water pool located beneath a large limestone cave. The tranquil atmosphere here makes it perfect for swimming or simply relaxing while taking in the beautiful views. Another popular spot is To Sua Ocean Trench, an amazingly clear azure swimming hole with cliffs as high as 30 meters surrounding it - great for cliff jumping!

Va'a-o-Fonoti has a rich history too; there was once a powerful kingdom based here before the arrival of westerners in the 19th century. In 1805, the first Christian mission was established near Vailoa village by John Williams - marking one of the earliest moments when Christianity spread across Samoan soil.
