The Northern Borders Region of Saudi Arabia is a beautiful area situated in the western part of the country near the borders of Iraq, Jordan and Kuwait. This region is full of natural beauty and a rich cultural heritage. It's known for its warm climate, stunning desert views and archaeological sites.

One tourist attraction to visit in this region is Al Ula which can be found at the edge of Tabuk province. It offers spectacular mountain scenery, historic sites such as Hegra (the UNESCO World Heritage Site), historical artefacts from numerous civilisations that have been unearthed here as well as an amazing array of wildlife.

For a unique experience, you can head to Rafha which has many historical monuments located along side modern buildings making it an attractive place to visit. The city also has some fascinating archaeological sites with artefacts dating back to early Islamic times when it was once the main trading route between Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

As one last interesting fact about this region's past; before oil exploration began in Saudi Arabia during 1939-1940, this northern border region was famous for its pearls which were exported all over the world for centuries - providing much wealth for local people until oil exploration changed their fortune forever!
