Visit Kaffrine

Kaffrine is a region in the country of Senegal, located on the east side of The Gambia. It has a tropical climate and lush vegetation, making it an excellent destination for tourists.

As you explore Kaffrine, be sure to check out Lake Guiers, the second largest lake in Senegal. You can take boat rides to see exotic birds and local fishing boats or go kayaking through the marshy swamplands that surround the lake. In addition, make time to visit Parc National de Niokolo-Koba which is home to a diverse range of wildlife including chimpanzees and antelope herds.

An interesting fact about Kaffrine is its history as one of four provinces during French colonial rule from 1895-1960 known as Four Communes. During this time period individuals were required to have identification papers with them at all times or risk being arrested by law enforcement officers enforcing segregation laws passed by French authorities.
