Visit Ziguinchor

Ziguinchor is a region and provincial capital of Senegal located in the south of the country. It is known for its vibrant culture, beautiful beaches, and local markets.

The regional capital is a great place to explore, with plenty of interesting sights such as the old colonial quarter of Oussouye, the markets that line Rodrigues Street, Parc du Bandia which has wild animals to observe in their natural environment, and many more. Be sure to also visit the stunningly beautiful beaches at Niani Baobab Beach or Fimela Beach where you can go kayaking or swimming in crystal clear waters.

Ziguinchor also has an interesting history - it was founded by Portuguese explorers who named it after Ziquincho River near which they first arrived. The French later took control over it before eventually ceding control back to Senegal in 1975 after Senegal's independence from France. This city thus holds some historic significance for modern-day Senegalese people!
