Kosovo and Metohija is a region in southwestern Serbia that has strong cultural, religious, and historical connections. The region's population is largely ethnic Albanian, although there are also significant Serb and other minority populations. It is considered an important part of Serbian culture and its history dates back more than 600 years. One interesting historical fact about Kosovo and Metohija is that it was the site of the epic 1389 Battle of Kosovo between Serbs and Ottomans.

Kosovo offers many tourist attractions including beautiful mountains, lakes, rivers, forests as well as historic monasteries, ancient fortresses such as Kaljaja Fortress in Prizren and Gracanica Monastery near Pristina. There are also plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy from skiing to hiking to rafting on Ibar River near Novo Brdo or Mokra Gora River near Vucitrn. Additionally travelers can explore the Cave Vrelo which contains karst formations or marvel at the old stone bridge in Podujevo known as Bemshi Bridge which connects two sides of town over Ibar river gorge.
