Visit Eastern Province

The Eastern Province of Sierra Leone is a highly diverse region located on the easternmost tip of the country. It has a tropical climate with high levels of humidity, making it the perfect destination for nature lovers. Freetown Peninsula National Park is one popular tourist attraction in this area and offers breathtaking views of its coastline. Other notable spots to visit are the picturesque beaches of Banana Island and Lakka Beach, both excellent places for swimming and savoring local cuisine.

It is also home to Sierra Leone's other main draw--its history. This area was colonized by freed enslaved Africans from Britain in 1787, making it an important part of world history. In recent years, locals have worked hard to preserve their cultural heritage through initiatives such as "The Freedom Journey" which educates visitors about this unique part of their past that helped shape modern day Sierra Leonean culture.
