Visit Bratislava Region

The Bratislava Region of Slovakia is located in the southwestern part of the country and borders both Austria and Hungary. It is home to many beautiful cities, including the capital, Bratislava. This region is steeped in history; archaeological evidence suggests that it was inhabited as far back as the Neolithic Period.

When visiting this region, there are plenty of interesting sights to explore. The castle on a hill overlooking Bratislava's old town provides stunning views over the city and River Danube below. Just south of Bratislava lies an eerie underground world called The Caves of Driny - perfect for any adventurers looking for something off-the-beaten-track! And if you're more interested in culture, head to Devin Castle - one of Slovakia's oldest castles with some incredible historical stories to tell.

One particularly interesting fact about this area is that it used to be part of an independent kingdom called 'Upper Hungary' between 1563 and 1783 before becoming a part of Czechoslovakia after World War I.
