Visit Nitra Region


The Nitra Region of Slovakia is a culturally rich area with plenty to see and do. It is known for its beautiful landscape, medieval architecture, and fascinating cultural heritage. The region offers tourists a wide range of activities from exploring the stunning countryside to visiting historical sites. Some of the most popular places to visit include Bojnice Castle, one of Slovakia's oldest castles, located in Bojnice; the old town center in Nitra; and Levoca with its impressive Gothic church.

This region also has an interesting history that dates back over 2000 years ago when it was inhabited by Celts and Romans. In fact, many Roman artifacts have been discovered throughout this area including a Roman fortification near Levice. Today visitors can explore these ruins while learning about the people who once lived there. Additionally, Nitra was once home to one of Europe's oldest universities which still stands today as a testament to its rich educational past.
