Visit Trenčiansky

The Trenciansky Region is located in western Slovakia. It's a pleasant and picturesque area surrounded by the Little Carpathians, Strazov Mountains and Povazsky Inovec. The region has a rich history with many castles, ruins, caves and other sights to explore.

One of the most popular tourist attractions in Trenciansky Region is Bojnice Castle which was built by Matus Cak Trenciansky in the 12th century. The castle now hosts numerous festivals throughout the year as well as an International Festival of Ghosts and Spooks every summer. Visitors can also explore nearby Zakopcie Cave, one of Slovakia's oldest cave sites where prehistoric paintings have been found.

Another interesting historical fact about the region is that it was part of Hungary until 1919 when it became part of Czechoslovakia following World War I. Today, it remains an important cultural center with many traditional villages that preserve their unique customs and traditions from past centuries.

Visitors to Trenciansky Region should also make sure to visit Beckov Castle ruins located near Topolcany or head to Palava Protected Landscape Area for hiking trails through stunning natural scenery or wine tasting tours at some of its local wineries.
