Visit Trnava Region

The Trnava Region is located in the west-central part of Slovakia and is the only Slovak region to border both Austria and Czech Republic. It is a diverse area with many historical monuments, natural attractions, spas, and cultural activities. The main city in the region is Trnava, which has a variety of well-preserved churches and buildings from its heyday as an important trade center during the Middle Ages.

More recently, Trnava hosted Pope John Paul II during his trip to Slovakia in 1995. Tourists who visit the city can explore its cobblestone streets or take a stroll through one of its many parks. Other popular attractions include Svaty Jur Gorge Nature Reserve located just outside of town, or Galanta Castle - a 13th century palace built on top of a hill overlooking nearby settlements.

In terms of history, several important battles have taken place within this region throughout history such as the Battle of Leipzig which was fought during Napoleon's invasion of Germany in 1813. Today visitors can take tours around various battlefields to learn more about local military traditions and past wars that took place in those areas.
