The Central Province of the Solomon Islands is situated in the South Pacific and consists of all islands between Malaita and Guadalcanal. It is a beautiful tropical region boasting idyllic white sand beaches, pristine coral reefs, lush rainforest, and dramatic mountain peaks.

Popular tourist attractions include Honiara's famous Iron Bottom Sound which was site to many naval battles during World War II as well as the stunning Marau Sound which offers some of the best snorkeling spots in the area. The island also offers a variety of cultural experiences such as exploring local markets or learning about traditional customs from locals.

Interesting historical insights include that most Solomon Island cultures mixed Melanesian and Polynesian cultures over 2,000 years ago while Navigator-priests discovered new lands by using stars to travel East from Fiji or Samoa.. Today these navigators are celebrated for connecting thousands of islands across Polynesia into one culture known as 'Kastom' culture.
