Sanaag Region is a region located in the northeast of Somalia. It's borders are Nugaal, Bari and Sool regions. Its second-largest city is Erigavo, with over 70,000 inhabitants. Sanaag has many attractions for tourists to explore. One of them is Laasqoray, an ancient and picturesque coastal town with rugged cliffs overlooking the Indian Ocean. Another noteworthy landmark is Dhahar Fort, which dates back to the 16th century and was once home to many Somali sultans and nobles.

In addition to its stunning views and historical sites, this region also boasts some of Somalia's best beaches along its coastline. Las Khorey beach offers great opportunities for swimming, fishing or sunbathing on its sandy shores while Xabo beach provides visitors with crystal clear waters perfect for snorkeling or diving activities as well as beautiful coral reefs teeming with sea life.

Another interesting fact about Sanaag's rich cultural heritage lies in the ruins of Cal Madow -- an ancient city that was built more than 1,500 years ago by Arabian settlers who had arrived on ships from Yemen after crossing the Gulf of Aden!
