Visit Incheon


Incheon is a vibrant port city located west of Seoul in South Korea. It has a long and rich history, which can be seen in the many historical sites throughout the city. Some of the top attractions in Incheon include Chinatown, where visitors can explore a range of Chinese cultural activities and cuisines; Wolmido Island, an old fishing village turned amusement park; and Jayu Park, which offers sweeping views over the Incheon Bridge and harbor.

Incheon is also known for its historical significance. The Japanese invasion of Korea began in 1592 when they landed at Ganghwa Island just off Incheon's shoreline. Later on during the Korean War, General Douglas MacArthur led an amphibious assault landing at Incheon to retake control from North Korean forces - this momentous event is known as "The Miracle at Incheon". Today there are various memorials scattered around town commemorating this event as well as other key moments in Korean history that took place here.
