Discover Oviedo

Oviedo is a city located in the autonomous region of Asturias, in the north of Spain. It is a beautiful city surrounded by mountains, forests and rivers. As the capital of Asturias and a university town, Oviedo has much to offer visitors. There are many cultural attractions, such as its Gothic cathedral dating back to 12th century and its churches with their Romanesque capitals. The San Julian de los Prados Church is one of Oviedo's most important monuments; it contains an impressive representation of Christ's crucifixion that dates back to 11th century. Also worth visiting are the Campoamor Theater and its interesting archaeological museum complex with Roman ruins from 1st century AD. Another great sight is the Naranco hill with pre-Romanesque carvings from 7th century AD as well as its incredible views over Oviedo and surrounding areas. Finally, there's Isla Magica Park which houses an amusement park full of exciting rides and activities for all ages!
