Visit Eastern Province


The Eastern Province of Sri Lanka is an important region full of cultural and historical significance. Rich in wildlife, the province has some of the most stunning landscapes in the country, with verdant forests and tranquil beaches. Tourists flock to destinations like Batticaloa Lagoon, a vast body of water dotted with picturesque islands, and Pasikudah Beach - known for its crystal clear waters perfect for swimming.

The province also has many interesting historical sites to visit such as Kallady Bridge which was built during the Dutch colonial period over 200 years ago and remains one of the oldest bridges in Sri Lanka to this day. Another popular destination is Batticaloa Fort which dates back to 1628 when it was constructed by Portuguese colonists as a strategic outpost.
