Visit Saint Kitts

Saint Kitts, also known as Saint Christopher, is an island nation in the Caribbean Sea. It is part of the two-island country of Saint Kitts and Nevis, along with its neighbor Nevis. The island is renowned for its vibrant culture and stunning scenery; its lush rainforest, jagged volcanic peaks, and white-sand beaches create an ideal tropical paradise.

The capital city of Basseterre offers a variety of attractions including the National Museum, which celebrates the nation's history from colonial times to independence in 1983. Other popular tourist destinations include Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park--a UNESCO World Heritage Site--and Romney Manor with its centuries-old Saman trees.

No visit to St Kitts would be complete without sampling some traditional cuisine such as goat water stew or curried conch fritters. An interesting historical fact is that St Kitts was home to one of the oldest British colonies in the West Indies; it was settled by English colonists back in 1623 and served as a base for sugar cane production until emancipation in 1834.
