Visit North Darfur


North Darfur is a regional province in Sudan located in the western part of the country. It covers an area of about 48,839 square kilometres and has a population of more than 2.5 million people. The region is divided into five administrative divisions with El Fasher being its largest city and capital.

North Darfur contains many interesting attractions and sites for visitors to explore from historical remains to beautiful landscapes. Tourists can visit Jebel Marra, which is one of Sudan's most renowned national parks and home to diverse wildlife such as lions, baboons, gazelles, cheetahs and more. Another popular destination in North Darfur is the archaeological site known as el-Daein which dates back to ancient times and provides great insight into the region's history.

One interesting fact about North Darfur is that it was also home to one of world's oldest civilizations -the Kingdom of Kush which lasted from around 1000 BC until 350 AD when Nubian rulers unified Sudan under their rule for nearly 500 years before it fell apart due to internal divisions among fellow tribesmen .
