Visit North Kordofan


North Kordofan is a region in the country of Sudan located in the northern part of the country. It lies between Khartoum state and South Kordofan and is home to many small cities, such as Umm Ruwaba, Al-Obeid, Kadogli, and El Obeid. It has great cultural diversity with people from different tribes such as Saraikiya, Fur and Nubian living there. The capital city is El Obeid which also serves as a commercial hub for North Kordofan.

The area has plenty to offer for adventure seekers wanting to explore its rich culture and history. One of the popular tourist attractions in North Kordofan is Jebel Aulia Dam & Lake which offers a variety of recreational activities including boating, sailing kayaking and bird watching. Another popular spot for travelers is Meroe Pyramids area which was once home to an ancient Kingdom that built several pyramids that are still standing today.

An interesting historical fact about North Kordafan is that it's where King Farouk I established his own gold mine during his reign in 1936-1948; evidence suggests he obtained large amounts of gold from this mine before being exiled from the country later on.
