Visit Western Kordofan


Western Kordofan is a state in western Sudan. It is located at the northern-most tip of the country, bordering South Darfur and North Darfur to the east and Chad to the west. It has an area of approximately 81,000 square kilometers and a population of over 1 million people.

One tourist attraction in Western Kordofan is Jebel Marra, which consists of beautiful mountains and caves with ancient rock art that date back thousands of years. There are also several historical sites in the region, including El Obeid Fort which was built in 1773 by Sultan Ali Dinar as a defense against Egyptian invasion.

In terms of culture and customs, Western Kordofan is home to many different ethnic groups such as Arab nomads and African farmers who live together peacefully despite racial differences. Some locals still practice traditional arts such as basket weaving and pottery making that have been passed down from generation to generation for hundreds of years.
