Marowijne is a region of Suriname located in the Northeast corner of the country along the border with French Guiana. Its capital is Albina, and it is known for its beautiful beaches, dense tropical rainforest, and diverse wildlife. Marowijne also has an interesting colonial history as it was one of the major sites of Dutch colonization during the 1700s.
