Dalarna County, located in central Sweden, is a popular tourist destination due to its abundance of outdoor activities and cultural attractions. An interesting historical fact about Dalarna County is that it was once home to Karl XIV Johan who was the first King of Sweden from 1818-1844. He had his summer residence at Harkeberga Palace near Falun where his descendants still live today.
