Vastmanland County is situated in central Sweden, just northwest of Stockholm. It borders the counties of Dalarna, Uppsala and Orebro. The county has many beautiful spots to explore and offers a variety of outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking and biking.

Vastmanland has an interesting historical claim to fame - it is home to the oldest known wooden statue in Scandinavia from around 1000 AD which stands on display at Skokloster Castle near Uppsala University Library.
