Visit Al Lādhiqīyah

Al Ladhiqiyah is a region located along the Mediterranean coastline of western Syria. Its capital, Latakia, is one of the country's main commercial and cultural capitals. The province consists of rugged mountains, rolling hills, and a few small valleys surrounding the two main rivers - Orentes and Cheikhoun.

Tourists visiting Al Ladhiqiyah can explore beautiful natural landscapes such as Jabal al-Nusayriyah mountain range and visit Qalaat Saladin, an ancient Crusader citadel dating back to 12th century. The city of Latakia also offers plenty to see including its historical old city with narrow alleyways that lead up to the Ummayad Mosque from which visitors can admire stunning views over the Mediterranean Sea.

One interesting fact about Al Ladhiqiyah is that it served as a port for Antioch during Roman times when silks were exported from this part of Syria to Europe. This made it an important centre for international trade in ancient times which continues till today due its strategic position at the crossroads between Europe and Asia.
