Visit As Suwaydā’


As Suwayda', also known as Sweida, is a southwestern governorate in Syria located near the border of Israel and Jordan. The region is home to a number of traditional Druze villages and historical sites. It has an ancient history that dates back thousands of years, with the city itself being established by Roman settlers in the 1st century AD.

For visitors to As Suwayda', there are plenty of places to explore; the Jabal al-Druze National Park offers breathtaking views from its peaks as well as opportunities for archaeological exploration into its ancient caves and ruins. The city center itself is home to numerous monuments like Sheikh Bader Palace and churches built over thousand years ago. Another interesting historical fact about As Suwayda' is that it was once part of the Decapolis League during Roman times, a collection of ten cities along former trading routes throughout western Syria.
