Visit Ḩalab


Halab, more commonly known as Aleppo, is a city located in northwestern Syria. It is the capital of the Aleppo Governorate and one of the largest cities in Syria with a population of about 4 million. The history and culture of Halab can be traced back to ancient times and it was an important trading site in the ancient world.

The most popular attraction in Halab is its beautiful bazaar, which dates back to medieval times and still stands today despite being damaged during the Syrian Civil War. There are also many mosques, churches and palaces where visitors can explore unique architecture from bygone eras. One such example is al-Madina Souq, a large covered market that houses over 8 km (5 miles) of galleries and markets selling everything from jewelry to food items.

Another popular tourist destination is Citadel of Aleppo which sits atop a hill overlooking much of the city. The fortress has stood for centuries as one of Halab's most recognizable landmarks due to its impressive size and architectural features including fortified towers, gates, walls and courtyards built in multiple styles from different periods of history.
