Visit Homs Governorate

The Homs Governorate of Syria is located in the center of the country and serves as an important agricultural and industrial hub. It has a population of over 1.6 million people, many of whom are refugees fleeing conflict in other parts of Syria. The governorate contains multiple historical sites, including the Khaled ibn al-Walid Mosque which dates back to 634 AD and was built by Caliph Umar bin Al-Khattab. The city also boasts several quaint old churches, such as St John Church and MarOUN Church, that offer visitors a glimpse into Syria's cultural heritage.

Homs is also home to some incredible natural attractions including Qasr al-Heir al-Sharqi - an ancient castle with stunning views over the city - and a number of lush green parks where visitors can relax after exploring the city's sights. Other popular tourist spots include Hamidieh, an ancient souk district filled with authentic shops selling local handicrafts; and Saydnaya Monastery - a historic Byzantine church perched high on a mountain overlooking Homs valley below it. For those looking for something really unique, there are also hot springs at Hama - perfect for relaxing after a long day sightseeing!
