Visit Rīf Dimashq


Rif Dimashq is a region in western Syria, located just west of the capital Damascus. It has a population of around 4.3 million residents and covers an area of 7,7750 square kilometers. The region is known for its agricultural production, as well as its proximity to the ancient city of Damascus.

Visitors to Rif Dimashq can explore the historic sites of Damascus and visit the ancient Umayyad Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in the world with incredible architecture and artwork. Other nearby attractions include Al Sehnaya Castle which was built by Muslim rulers during Medieval times; visitors can wander through its ruins and learn about Syrian history and culture.

One interesting fact about Rif Dimashq is that it is home to Khan As'ad Pasha al-Azm, one of Syria's most beautiful Ottoman-era houses from 1742 which now serves as a museum featuring antiques from different time periods in Syrian history.
