Visit Chiayi City

Chiayi City is a part of the larger Chiayi Province, located on the southwestern coast of Taiwan. As one of Taiwan's most important historical cities, Chiayi is known for its well-preserved traditional architecture and cultural heritage from its time as a trading port. The city's lush mountain ranges overlook stunning valleys and forests, making it a vibrant tourist destination.

When visiting Chiayi City, be sure to take in the sights at the Chimei Museum, an impressive complex housing art galleries that span Chinese history from ancient times to present day. Or head out to Alishan National Scenic Area - a breathtaking 3100-meter mountain range with hiking trails and hot springs perfect for relaxing after a long journey.

An interesting historical fact about Chiayi is that it was originally called Kagee by local Aboriginal tribes during Taiwan's early days as an Austronesian settlement. This name has since been adopted by many locals who had no idea about its origins until recently!
