Visit Hualien


Hualien is one of the most beautiful provinces in Taiwan, located on the eastern coast. With its lush mountains and tropical forests, Hualien is a natural paradise. It's also home to some amazing geological sites, including Taroko Gorge and Sun Moon Lake. The city of Hualien is the largest city in the province and has a thriving urban culture filled with night markets, modern cafes, and tourist attractions.

For those interested in culture and history, there are plenty of exciting things to do in Hualien. A visit to Qixingtan Beach gives visitors a chance to explore an historical seaside fort from Japanese colonialism era as well as stunning views of the Pacific ocean. Alternatively for adventure seekers there's Meilunshan Forest Park which offers world-class hiking trails through lush forests and picturesque mountain vistas.

An interesting fact about this region is that it was once home to some of Taiwan's first inhabitants -the Rukai people who lived here for at least 2000 years before colonization by Chinese settlers began in 1622. Today these descendants still live in Hualien county expressing their unique cultural heritage through music and food specialties such as stone oven baked breads made from millet flour -known locally as 'jibalai'!
