Hualien County is a county located in the eastern portion of Taiwan. It is home to stunning natural landscapes, as it borders the Pacific Ocean and the Central Mountain Range. This setting makes it a popular spot among tourists from all over the world.

One of its most famous attractions is Taroko National Park, which features impressive marble canyons and beautiful trails for hiking, rafting and hot springs. Tourists can also visit Qixingtan Beach, which has a two-kilometer long beachfront with spectacular views of mountains and ocean alike.

In addition to its natural beauty, Hualien County also has an interesting history that dates back nearly 400 years ago when the first settlers arrived in this area. In 1622, Spanish missionary Diego Luis de San Vitores came to Hualien as part of his mission to spread Christianity throughout Taiwan. Today visitors can still find remnants of Spanish-era structures throughout Hualien County such as St Augustine Church in Rueisui Township near Taroko Gorge.
