Kaohsiung County is located in the southern part of Taiwan and is one of the 6 special municipalities of Taiwan. It is the second most populous county in Taiwan, with a population of 2.77 million people as of 2019. The city has a rich history and culture, making it an attractive destination for tourists looking to explore its many attractions.

For those looking to experience some cultural attractions, the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Memorial Center or FGSBM is worth visiting. Sitting on top of Mount Kaohsiung, this center was built by Venerable Master Hsing Yun with his followers who are devoted Buddhists, making it one of the main spiritual landmarks in Kaohsiung County. Another great place to visit is Love River which runs through downtown Kaohsiung City giving visitors a pleasant stroll along its path while admiring breathtaking views from bridges and promenades near it.

An interesting historical fact related to Kaohsiung County is that it was once known as Takau during Qing Dynasty's rule over Taiwan where Chinese settlers had established a thriving agricultural and trading industry due to its excellent natural harbor located at today's port city - Kaoshiung City!
