Visit Miaoli County

Miaoli County is a county in western Taiwan, facing the Taiwan Strait to the west. It is located east of Hsinchu County and north of Taichung City. The region is known for its scenic beauty and wildlife, making it a popular tourist destination. The mountainous terrain offers visitors plenty of opportunities for hikes, biking, and other outdoor activities.

For those interested in the history of the area, there are several interesting sites to explore. One such site is Shengang Longshan Temple (Sheng Gang Long Shan Si ), which dates back to 1694 and houses many painted sculptures from that era inside its halls. Another must-see spot for tourists is Sanyi Wood Sculpture Museum (San Yi Mu Diao Bo Wu Guan ), a large open-air museum where traditional wood carvings can be admired up close.

An especially interesting historical fact about Miaoli County is that it was once a major center for tea production during Japanese colonial rule in Taiwan - an industry which persists today with more than 20% of all processed tea in Taiwan coming from this region alone!
