Visit Pingtung

Pingtung is a province in southwestern Taiwan located on the east coast of the island. It is home to some of the most stunning beaches and lush forestry found on the island. The province also has numerous national parks, such as Kenting National Park, with its spectacular coastline, and Waian Shuei National Park, where you can find hot springs and a range of different bird species.

Two popular tourist destinations in Pingtung are Jialeshui Beach and Eluanbi Park. Jialeshui Beach is known for its white sand beach which stretches over 10 km along the Taiwan Strait, while Eluanbi Park is a famous landmark overlooking nearby Kenting National Park which includes marine terraces at the southernmost tip of Taiwan.

A historical fact about Pingtung is that it was once part of Tainan Prefecture before becoming an independent county in 1950 during Japan's occupation period from 1895-1945. This makes it one of only two counties in Taiwan to have this distinction; Kaohsiung being the other one.
