Visit Khatlon Province


Khatlon Province is one of the four provinces that make up the Central Asian nation of Tajikistan. It is located in the south-western part of the country, bordering Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. This diverse region is home to many cultures, including Tajiks, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz and Uzbeks.

Khatlon Province contains several unique tourist destinations for visitors to explore. The ancient city of Kalai Khum provides a great opportunity to see traditional Tajik architecture as well as visit nearby mosques and bazaars. Meanwhile at Vose Lake you can take a boat tour or simply relax by its picturesque shoreline under the shade of tall trees.

The area has an interesting history too with artifacts from various civilizations still being discovered today such as coins from Alexander the Great's reign which were found recently near Khovaling Valley. In addition to this evidence is also being uncovered which suggests that Khatlon was once inhabited by nomads some three thousand years ago!
