Visit Kilimanjaro Region

Kilimanjaro is a region located in Tanzania, at the base of Africa's highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. It is a lush region known for its diverse wildlife, beautiful landscapes and abundance of natural resources. The climate in Kilimanjaro is tropical with temperatures ranging from mild to hot throughout the year. Tourists come from all over the world to take in the breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro's majestic peaks and explore its vast landscape, including exciting safaris and game drives. Popular tourist spots include Lake Chala National Park, home to giraffes, zebras and other exotic wildlife; the Marangu Waterfall trail which offers stunning views of waterfalls cascading down from Mount Kilimanjaro; as well as Materuni Village which provides a glimpse into traditional Tanzanian culture and features dramatic views of Kibo Peak.

One particularly interesting historical fact about Kilimanjaro involves German Kaiser Wilhelm II who allegedly visited the area twice in 1889-1890 while on an African expedition with zoologist Carl Hugo Hahn. During this time he supposedly climbed part way up Mt Kilimararo although it was never confirmed whether he actually reached its peak or not as it wasn't until 1912 that it was successfully completed by another German explorer Hans Meyer.
