Visit Lindi Region

The Lindi Region of Tanzania is located in the south-eastern corner of the country, bordering Mozambique. It is one of the most remote and undiscovered parts of the country, offering an off-the-beaten track experience for those seeking to explore its infinite beauty.

This region is rich with unique wildlife, including elephants, zebras and chimpanzees as well as spectacular landscapes. Two must see places when visiting include Liwale National Park which is known for its incredible birdlife; and Ruvenzori Beach where visitors can enjoy beautiful white sandy beaches surrounded by palm trees.

A historical fact about Lindi Region worth noting is that it was once home to German settlers during colonial times in East Africa. Visitors can still find traces of this past today through relics like old steam locomotives and other artifacts found around the area's abandoned ruins or museums such as Kilwa Kivinje Museum which offers tourists an insight into German rule in Tanzania between 1891 and 1918.
