Visit Mara Region

The Mara Region of Tanzania is a beautiful expanse of undulating hills, sweeping savannas, and lush green forests. It's best known for the Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of the most popular wildlife tourist destinations in East Africa and home to some of the continent's most iconic animals including lions, cheetahs, and elephants. It's also a major destination on the Great Migration route between Kenya and Tanzania.

Other must-see attractions in this region include Lake Victoria - Africa's largest lake - as well as its islands: Ukara Island, Rubondo Island National Park, Ukerewe Island, and others. Here visitors can partake in activities such as fishing or bird watching while admiring stunning views over the lake.

The region is also rich with culture dating back centuries; an interesting historical fact is that here lies Burigi-Chopa cultural landscape in Musoma district which was used by pastoralists who arrived from Sudan around 1550 AD to practice their traditional way of life until today.
