Visit Mwanza Region


The Mwanza Region in the country of Tanzania is located along the southern shore of Lake Victoria and is known for its beautiful, expansive landscapes. The region boasts stunning views of savannah plains, rolling hills, lush forests and sandy white beaches. Tourists can explore traditional villages, go on safaris to see a variety of wildlife or take part in activities like fishing or boat rides on lake Victoria.

Two popular tourist attractions in Mwanza are the colorful Nyamagana Market where you can find unique Tanzanian goods and Bismarck Rock, which has a fascinating history as it was once used by two German explorers who named it after Chancellor Bismarck. Visitors will also enjoy exploring Serengeti National Park which contains some of Africa's most diverse wildlife including lions, cheetahs and zebras!

The Mwanza area has an interesting historical background that dates back centuries ago when it was inhabited by Nilotics from Sudan who later intermingled with local tribes to form new societies. It is now home to over one million people living mainly within small townships scattered throughout the countryside.
