Pemba North is a coastal region of Tanzania located on the Indian Ocean. The region is filled with beautiful white sand beaches and picturesque landscapes. It's home to several national parks such as Ngezi Forest Reserve and Misali Island Marine Park, which are popular destinations for tourists looking to explore the natural beauty of the area.

The Fumba Lion Sanctuary is another destination that draws in visitors from around the world as it houses over 50 lions with acres of natural grasslands surrounding them. Additionally, Pemba North is known for its historic sites such as Kigombero Ruins, a large sixteenth-century settlement that was once used by Swahili traders.

An interesting historical fact about Pemba North is that it was briefly an independent Sultanate during the late eighteenth century before being taken over by Oman in 1832. This resulted in a mix of cultures between Middle Eastern and African influences, which can still be seen today throughout the region's architecture and cuisine.
