Visit Zanzibar North Region


Zanzibar North Region is a province of Tanzania located on the island of Unguja. This region, referred to as Zanzibar Town, offers many tourist attractions that make it unique and an ideal place for tourists. Many often visit the Old Fort which dates back to the 1600s and provides a great historical insight into the area's past. Tourists can also explore Stone Town, an area known for its beautiful architecture made up of narrow streets flanked by coral rag houses. Another interesting fact is that this region was granted World Heritage status in 2000 due to its rich cultural heritage and historical significance.

Two touristy places to visit in Zanzibar North Region include Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park and Nungwi Beach. The Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park is known for its diverse range of wildlife such as red colobus monkeys and bush babies which can be seen roaming around freely in their natural habitat. Nungwi Beach also offers stunning white sand beaches with crystal clear aquamarine waters perfect for swimming or sunbathing under palm trees at sunset. An interesting historical fact about Zanzibar North Region is that it has been populated since the 1st century BC when early humans settled here from areas around Africa's east coast like Somalia and Ethiopia!
