Place of worship, Monument

Wat Rong Khun, also known as the White Temple, is a stunningly unique architectural marvel located in the city of Chiang Rai, Thailand. This contemporary Buddhist temple is famous for its intricate white structure adorned with tiny pieces of mirrored glass, creating a radiant and sparkling effect. The temple is a symbol of purity and reflects the artist Chalermchai Kositpipat’s interpretation of Buddhist teachings.

Visitors to Wat Rong Khun are captivated by its ethereal beauty and the detailed artwork both inside and outside the temple. The main building, Ubosot, is a sight to behold with its sea of reaching hands representing human desires. Inside, the walls are decorated with murals depicting heaven, earth, and hell, providing a thought-provoking experience for visitors. The temple grounds also feature an ornate golden building housing restrooms, often humorously referred to as the most beautiful toilets in the world.
