Discover Tunis
Tunis is the capital of Tunisia and the largest city in the country. It has a long history dating back to 814 BC, when it was founded by Phoenicians. The city is home to a mix of cultures, including both Arab and French influences which can be seen in its architecture. Tunis is also home to many attractions, such as the Bardo Museum, which houses a large collection of mosaics and artifacts from Roman times; the Medina of Tunis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; and Avenue Habib Bourguiba, one of the most famous streets in all of North Africa. Other experiences worth exploring include sampling some delicious Tunisian cuisine at local restaurants or taking part in an arts workshop at La Marsa Arts Center. For those looking for more adventure there are plenty of nearby beaches where visitors can go swimming or explore marine life with snorkeling tours.
