Visit Nanumanga


The Nanumanga of Tuvalu is an island nation located in the South Pacific Ocean. It consists of nine atolls and four reef islands, with a total land area of only 10 square miles. Home to around 11,000 people, the Nanumanga has a rich culture and history.

The main tourist attractions on this beautiful volcanic island include Funafuti Marine Conservation Area and Funafuti Lagoon. You can snorkel or kayak through the crystal clear waters here to observe its abundance of colorful coral reefs and marine life. There are also many outdoor activities such as bird watching, fishing and swimming available for visitors to enjoy!

An interesting historical fact about the Nanumanga is that it was used as an airbase during World War II by both Allied Forces and Japanese forces. Today it's home to some memorable monuments from that era including sunken war planes and shipwrecks which make for fascinating dives for adventure seekers!
