The Central Region of Uganda is a vibrant area full of stunning natural beauty, cultural diversity and historical landmarks. Its main cities include Kampala, the capital, and Mbarara in the western part of the country. The region is home to many national parks such as Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lake Mburo National Park and Murchison Falls National Park, which offer an abundance of wildlife sightings and photographic opportunities.

Historically speaking, Central Uganda was once one of East Africa's largest kingdoms before British colonization in 1893. It also served as a crucial trading hub between Buganda and Bunyoro kingdoms during ancient times.

Visitors to Central Uganda can explore the regions many attractions like Kasubi Tombs World Heritage Site in Kampala which is a royal burial ground for four Kabakas (kings) from Buganda Kingdom or take a nature walk at Kibale National Park one of the best sites for chimpanzee tracking in Africa. For religious pilgrims there's Namugongo Martyrs shrine where thousands gather annually to commemorate those who died due to their allegiance to Christianity during their time.
