Zhytomyr Oblast is a region in Ukraine located northwest of Kiev. Its capital city, Zhytomyr, is the birthplace of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko and a major agricultural center owing to its fertile soil. The region is home to numerous wildlife reserves such as the Askany-Tatarbunary Nature Reserve, which offers visitors an opportunity to observe some of Ukraine's most diverse wildlife habitats. Other popular tourist attractions in the region include Olevsk Mountain and Kurakhovo Museum Village, where visitors can gain an insight into traditional Ukrainian culture through its historic structures and museums.
