Discover Georgetown
Georgetown is a city located in the United Kingdom, about 8 miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne. The city is home to many historic attractions and landmarks such as the Black Gate, St Nicholas' Cathedral and various ancient churches. It has stunning architecture from different eras which includes Georgian townhouses and traditional pubs. There are also many beautiful parks within Georgetown to explore, as well as charming cobbled streets with plenty of independent shops, cafes and restaurants.
When visiting Georgetown there are two main attractions that should not be missed; a visit to the Quayside area where one can take a River Cruise along the River Tyne or wander around the vibrant nightlife spots; and exploring one of Georgetown's many museums such as Beamish Museum which is an open-air museum recreating life in North East England during Victorian Times. Lastly, don't miss out on trying some local delicacies including Durham pork pies!
